Schlitterbahn waterpark (2009)
by Aishwarya Ravindran
One of the thrilling and fun filled experiences we ever had was the trip to Schlitterbahn waterpark organized by the BCSO. It was on a sunny Friday evening when we headed to the waterpark with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm to experience the splendid water rides. The sunny climate on that day was so perfect to experience the cool dash of water to beat the summer heat. We met at the entrance of the waterpark and headed out to the changing rooms in order to change into our swim wear. We then set out to experience the thrilling water rides. One of the very first rides we went on was the tunnel slide, where you sit on a tube and slide down through a dark tunnel as the water splashes through it. I found this a bit scary as it was totally dark in there and all that I could hear were my screams. We then grabbed a tube and headed out to the torrent wave river. We sat on the tube and let the tidal waves take us on this surging river. This was quite a thrilling experience to me as I fell into the river a couple of times when the huge waves splashed over me throwing me off the tube. Not to mention the other adventurous water rides such as twin twisters, and the white water river, which brings me fond memories of the thrilling rapid white water bursts. The best part of the trip was the fact that we went in a group, which made the trip all the more exciting and sociable. Also the fact that the wait lines weren’t too long and this saved us a lot of time and so we got to experience the best of the rides. In about 2 hours, we were done with all the rides and since we went on a weekday it worked to our advantage in terms of avoiding crowd and long wait lines. Overall, our trip to the Schlitterbahn water park was simply marvelous, memories of which will always linger in our minds. Thanks to the BCSO for organizing this wonderful fun filled trip, which will never cease to remind us of the joy and thrill of experiencing the splashing and dashing water world.
