Admission Process
The Program confers Ph.D. degrees for basic biomedical research in biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, structural biology, and/or genetics. The goals of the Program are for each student to develop a broad and quantitative understanding of modern biology with relevance to human health. All students take core courses in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Structural Biology. These courses prepare the students to develop independent multidisciplinary research projects under the mentoring of exceptional supervisory professors. These phenomenal research opportunities afforded students are enhanced by the recreational/cultural attractions of our resort island community on the Gulf Coast
