Location and Other Information


This workshop will be held at the Rice University Bioscience Research Collaborative (BRC) building, which is located in the Texas Medical Center area. Oral presentations will be given at Auditorium 103 and poster presentations will be given at 1st floor Event/Exhibition Hall 120.


The invited speakers will stay at Hilton Houston Plaza Medical Center, which is only 200 feet from the workshop site and the workshop staff will make reservations for the invited speakers. This hotel is recommended for other non-local attendees, but there are some other hotels in the Texas Medical Center area.


The meeting site (BRC building) is located at the Texas Medical Center area in Houston. The BRC is ~20 miles from Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport (IAH) and ~10 miles from Houston Hobby Airport (HOU). From the airports, taxi service will be most convenient for nonlocal participants of the workshop.


If you come to the workshop site by car, you can park at the underground parking garage beneath the BRC building (accessible from Dryden Street). We will validate your parking. Please come to the workshop reception desk for a validation ticket.


Once you arrived, please sign in at the reception desk in the lobby near the room BRC 103 and pick up your name tag, abstract book, and workshop goodies. The workshop reception desk is open for 8-9am and 1-2pm on December 7 and 8th.

For poster presentations

Each poster presenter should set up a poster in the morning of December 7, present it during the two poster sessions (12-2pm on December 7 and 8), and remove after the second poster session. The poster size should not be much bigger than 4’ x 3’. Please check your poster number in the abstract book and put your poster up on the assigned board. Push pins will be provided.
